Shenley Scorpions Basketball Club has existed in Milton Keynes in various forms since 1992. It was originally founded as the Shenley Bulls and competed in what was known as the M40 league.

Following the arrival of the MK Lions organisation in 1998 the club decided to become a satellite club, known as the Shenley Lions. The club was by far the most successful satellite club for the years it was affiliated winning the Bucks Junior Basketball League in almost every age group and producing some of the most talented National League players. However, in 2008 it was decided that it would be in the best interests of the club and its members to end its affiliation with the MK Lions and embark in its new direction as the Shenley Scorpions.

Having emerged as a club in its own right the Shenley Scorpions attained the ultimate honour of being recognised by the sport’s governing body, England Basketball, as worthy of Clubmark and 3 Star Accreditation, the only basketball club in Milton Keynes to do so!
